I have found my husband.

His name is Tengku Haidar.

It wasn’t love at first sight, of course. I was completely put off by the fact that he was totally in love with another woman who was, in fact, planning to marry him so that she could be Queen. And then I was further put off by the fact that he ran off to another country when he discovered her deception, instead of dealing it like a man. And then he totally disgusted me when, at this new country, he found a new girl and pursued her with such poyoness and cheesiness that he puts my ex-classmate, whom I shall call HBO, to shame. The text messages he sent her “Saya akan kejar awak sampai saya dapat, kemudian saya akan cium awak!” brought shivers of ickiness down my spine. And while we’re at it, “cium awak”? Hello, batas pergaulan?Hello,k""e'ers of ickiness down my spine. dian saya akan cium awak"ued her with such poyoness that he puts my ex-classmate who

But I had to admit, he was good-looking. And charismatic. And every time I met him – which was once a week – he didn’t fail to make me laugh with his silly jokes, his quirks, and the lengths he went to in winning the girl of his dreams. He was the type who, when he wanted something, he wouldn’t allow anything to stand in his way in getting it. Unlike his wimpy, totally unmanly brother, Tengku Hussein.

I like determination in a man.

Oh, and have I mentioned he’s a prince and future king of his country?

But it wasn’t until what he did a few hours ago that I fell in love with him and knew this was the kind of man I wanted to marry.

*Smiles dreamily*

Of course, the fact that he only exists in the local TV programme Sindarela, is a huge setback.

Sigh.

In case you don’t understand where I’m going here, I just completed the subtitles for the final episode of Sindarela, which shall be airing tonight at 9pm on TV3.

And right now, I am brimming with satisfaction over a job well done, as well as swooning over my love towards Tengku Haidar.

Ah, well, at least the one good thing about falling in love with a fictional character is that I’ll stop thinking about a certain, more real character for good, simply because the latter pales in comparison.

Yay!

No, Haidar isn't the ugly bloke in the middle, or the really ugly bloke on the right. He's the slightly ugly bloke on the far left.

PS: Please forgive my cheesiness in this post. I'll try to come up with something better in the near future.

I almost thought you actually met someone HERE IN GOMBAK who actually wanted to kiss you! Now THAT would be something! XD

Yup, determination is definitely a good trait!

How did you get to do all this subtitling stuff? I think it's uber cool to be able to do so! It's like, at the end of the episode there'll be "Sarikata oleh: Anisah Shurfa". And of course you get to watch the (unfortunately lame/cliche most of the time) dramas before anyone else gets to!

The publicity pic for the show seems like the publicity pic for something else I've seen before, but I just can't recall at this moment...

Hey, KL Fairy here. thanks for the heads up on Sindarela. Will watch it tonight.

But, honestly, Tengku Haidar sometimes sort of kayu in the show. Or maybe it's just me.

hi there

like u've been 'googling' for sindarela and ended up at fairy kl, so did i. :P but i saw ur comment and found ur blog.

nways, we have the same thing in common; deeply in love with tengku haidar! im soo into guys with high determination. and my favourite scene would be the part when haidar was trying to open the car and confessing everything to zoey.

anyways, i found the ending as freaking brilliant! dont u think so?

Naz: Thanks for linking me up! I'm honoured! :-D About the job; my sisters were already working there, so when I completed my SPM and was looking for a job, I just asked them to pull some strings for me. And they did! It's a tedious job, but the pay's good ;-)

KL fairy: Kayu?? Really? I thought he's a talented and funny actor, for someone who's new to the industry. (At least, I think he's new. I certainly haven't seen him before on TV. Which isn't saying something, since Malaysian dramas aren't usually my cup of tea). But his monologues are definitely cringe-inducing!

Ainishamsi: The ending was AMAZING. I did not expect Zoe to choose Haidar over Hussein, especially as she was supposedly so "in love" with Hussein, who is such a wuss!

And the fact that Haidar ended up not accepting her? Brilliant. Because he's way too good for Zoe, really.

My favourite scene was when Haidar was trying to win over Zoe with his sob story about having a disease that rendered him incapable of having drinks alone. LOL funny!

LOL OMG yesterday my friends and I were eating out and that show was on tv, first we were like, ape bende ni?! its so weird!? apesal overdramatic sangat? and we couldn't stop laughing, it was so stuuupid! especially hilarious was when the brother (hussein i think) tried to have that look on his face, like a torn soul...he just looked like he had buggery eyes to me. and what was up with the other guy always carrying tht girl? omg too hilarious! and the ending was totally crap...
poor girl you had to sit through the whole season..!

LOL yeah! It was torture, most of the time. But as someone who had to sit for the whole season, I can testify that that ending redeemed the whole series ;-)

But you know what? There are worse Malaysian dramas out there than Sindarela. So much worse. This one was at least mildly amusing at times, though of course it couldn't steer itself from the draggy, melodramatic, super-cheesy trademark of Malaysian dramas ;-)
